Name of your website?

Eco-Friendly Farmstays Ecuador

Your name?

Sarah

Your Location (city, etc)

Beautiful San Luis de Pambil, in the western foothills of the Andes mountains~

Please give us a short summary of your website?

It's to share information about an eco-tourism project which supports the local community and promotes reforestation - each eco-tourist plants a tree for each night of their stay with us.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We are very long way off the beaten track so we need a way for eco-travellers to find out about us.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Just last year, for the charity behind this project. It was www.cracyp.org, which has now mostly been replaced with www.progresoverde.org.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Eco-Friendly Farmstays Ecuador - it does what it says on the tin! We wanted to make it obvious what we do and where.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

The project is unusual in that it is run by a charity and that travellers not only help the region economically by visiting, they also have a positive impact on the environment, by planting trees, and also spend some time getting to know local people.

The website is different because I have had no training in how to build a website, so I am making it up as I go along... Thank goodness for NVu, which is a free, open-source software (great for those of us in developing countries) and pretty easy to use.

What is your website address?
