We all know that Mt. Everest stands as the highest place on earth when it comes to measuring the distance from the sea level.

But in true form, when we talked of the earth's closest point to the outer space, or shall we as the closest on the moon, then it is the Mt. Chimborazo of Ecuador, located on the earth's bulge on the equator making it the closest place to the moon.
